Sydney Sweeney made waves during the 2025 Super Bowl by starring in a nostalgic commercial alongside Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal. The White Lotus actress appeared in a Hellmann’s mayonnaise ad inspired by the iconic rom-com When Harry Met Sally…, which originally starred Ryan and Crystal.
Airing during the Chiefs vs. Eagles showdown on February 9, the commercial—titled When Sally Met Hellmann’s—recreated the famous Katz’s Deli scene from the 1989 film. In the 30-second spot, Billy and Meg sat in the deli, reminiscing over sandwiches.
“I can’t believe they let us back in this place,” Billy quipped before noticing Meg’s less-than-thrilled reaction to her food. “What, no good?” he asked.
Meg then added a squeeze of Hellmann’s mayo, instantly transforming her meal. With exaggerated delight, she moaned, “Oh my gosh! So good!”—a cheeky nod to her famous When Harry Met Sally… scene.
Billy followed up with a witty remark: “This one’s real.” As Meg slammed the table in satisfaction, she declared, “Now that is a sandwich.”
Watching from a nearby table, Sydney Sweeney delivered the film’s most famous line, telling the waiter, “I’ll have what she’s having.”
More than 30 years after When Harry Met Sally… first hit theaters, Crystal believes the film’s lasting impact comes from its authenticity.
“Because it’s real,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “Because it doesn’t try hard. It’s simple, it’s funny, it’s sad, it’s challenging, and it’s so romantic. And ultimately, the right people get together.”
Sweeney, Ryan, and Crystal weren’t the only stars to light up the Super Bowl with a commercial, but their nostalgic nod to a classic rom-com certainly stole the spotlight.
