Push, the charismatic talking trash can, is stealing the spotlight at Hong Kong Disneyland. This animated bin doesn’t just collect garbage—it entertains visitors with its quirky personality, cheeky humor, and unexpected outbursts when ignored.
A video shared by Instagram user @luckystarry_hung captured Push in action, surrounded by curious park goers. In the clip, it approaches a woman and dramatically asks in Cantonese, “Sister, do you have any garbage?” When she drops a tissue inside, the trash can bursts into a gleeful “Yum yum yum!” The crowd couldn’t help but laugh at its over-the-top antics.
Social media users have been buzzing about the playful trash bin.
Push’s charm isn’t magic, though—it’s clever engineering. Inside its steel frame and plastic bag, a hidden radio-controlled robot brings the trash can to life. Two cast members work behind the scenes: one to maneuver its movements and another to lend it a lively voice.
This isn’t Push’s first act. Originally retired in 2014, the animatronic trash can made a surprise return in 2022 at EPCOT’s The Odyssey. Its reappearance in Hong Kong Disneyland is yet another treat for longtime fans.
With its cheeky personality and unrelenting appetite for rubbish, Push has been compared to a real-life WALL-E—only sassier and with an insatiable love for trash.
