Growing up, many of us would have definitely had fights with our parents and most likely, we’d be wishing for a place to run away to, to avoid them.
After a fight with his parents, one teen decided to make his own place to run to, and he began to dig an underground cave.

Following an intense argument with his parents, Andres Canto was only 14-years-old when he decided to head into his backyard in Alicante, Spain with a pickaxe.
According to the teen, his parents would not allow him to go into town wearing a track suit and a fight ensued between them.
“My parents wanted me to change clothes to go to the village, but I wanted to wear the track suit, so I could mess around in the village,” Andres told Zenger News. “They told me I could not go out dressed like this, and I said: ‘No worries, I can entertain myself,’ and I went to the back of the property and started to dig a hole.”
He decided to let off some steam by digging a hole but what he didn’t expect was to actually start enjoying the activity.
Andres found himself returning to his growing cave after classes every evening, expanding it little by little.
The teen enlisted his friend’s help into digging the underground cave and together, they turned the hole into an impressive hang-out area.
The pair managed to put in 14 hours of work into the cave everyday and after adding a pneumatic drill to their digging tools, they started to make real progress.
At first, most of their digging was done by hand, with the dirt being removed by a bucket. Eventually, Andres implemented a pully system.
Soon, the two had dug a sitting room and a bedroom in their cave.
The roof of the cave is supported by arched entrances and the vaulted ceilings are reinforced with columns, as well as concrete walls to prevent collapses.
The now 20-year-old shared that he only spent roughly €50 (RM252) on building materials required to consolidate his backyard cave.
Andres spends most of his free time in his private space and has fitted the underground cave with wi-fi from his mobile phone, electricity, and even a heating system.
However, the 20-year-old admitted that there are some drawbacks from living in his cave as he has to deal with the occasional flood when it rains, and insects and snails that often find their way into the abode.
Well, that’s definitely an effective way to let off some steam when you’re fighting with your parents!
We wish we could dig our own private space to escape in too!
