The Best Performances We Saw At The Grammy’s This Year

They all slayed so hard

In our Grammy Party video with Lupe Fiasco (link incase you guys haven’t watched it yet, you should. He’s hilarious), he told us that the “illest thing about the Grammys is the performances. It’s the best concert you’ll ever go to”

And this year’s Grammy performances were sick as can be!

Here’s a list of all this year’s Grammy performances that you CANNOT MISS!

  1. KENDRICK LAMAR HAD A DAVE CHAPELLE INTERLUDE IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS PERFORMANCE.

Kendrick Lamar’s performance kicked off the ceremonies on a high note with a short interlude from none other than Dave Chappelle blessing us with his quick quips and remarks throughout Kendrick’s powerful medley. Oh yeah, U2 makes an appearance too.

  1. BRUNO MARS AND CARDI B’S FINESSE PERFORMANCE KILLED IT

If you could only watch one performance, we’d suggest you watch this one. Bruno Mars and Cardi B’s finesse remix brought enough dancing, bright colours and happiness that will last you the whole week!

  1. KESHA’S PERFORMANCE OF “PRAYING” HAD THE AUDIENCE TEARING UP

Cyndi Lauper, Camila Cabello, Bebe Rexha and many other artists joined Kesha for her stunning performance of “Praying” that had people tearing up in the audience! Kesha was introduced by Janelle Monae, who made the most pointed Time’s Up reference of the evening. “We come in peace, but we mean business," she said. "To those who dare try and silence us, we offer you two words: Time's Up." Truly a powerful and heartfelt performance.

  1. SZA PERFORMANCE OF BROKEN CLOCKS WAS A SIGHT TO SEE

Framed by an isometric installation and backed by a screen that played mind-bending imagery of optical illusions, SZA reminded everyone that she’s still a winner even if she missed out on a gramophone trophy.

  1. CHILDISH GAMBINO SNEAKED IN A LION KING DUET DURING HIS PERFORMANCE

Childish had JD McCrary sing “Terrified” alongside him during his performance this morning showing off the 10-year-old’s vocal power. A little teaser for Lion King as McCrary will be playing young Simba in Disney’s upcoming live-action reboot of the film. While, Childish’s alter ego, Donald Glover will be playing adult Simba.

  1. LUIS FONSI AND DADDY YANKEE’S DESPACITO PERFORMANCE BROUGHT SOME LATIN HEAT TO THE GRAMMY’S

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s performance was a historic moment for an awards show that has enlisted less than 12 latin performers in the past 30 years. The duo burned through the original track almost entirely in Spanish, rather than adhere to the Grammy-nominated English speaking remix with Justin Bieber. But that did not prevent the crowd from singing along to the track’s now iconic chorus (des..pa…cito).

  1. RIHANNA HAD MORE FUN THAN DJ KHALED DURING THEIR PERFORMANCE

“Wild Thoughts” may technically be a DJ Khaled song that Rihanna is featured on, but everyone knows it’s really a Rihanna song and DJ Khaled is just lucky she agreed to do it. Rihanna further illustrated this during their performance. Neither Bryson Tiller nor DJ Khaled could match her enthusiasm for life.

  1. LADY GAGA’S PERFORMANCE OF “JOANNE/MILLION REASONS” WITH THAT HIGH NOTE WAS STRAIGHT FIRE

Gaga was such a starlet she absolutely over-shone Mark Ronson, who was sitting right there strumming away on his guitar. Clad completely in white and playing on a feathered piano adorned with angel wings, Gaga's stripped down production was a perfect showcase.
