Literally.

If you’ve dreamed of taking a trip to out of space, you can now do so as the first ever space hotel is set to welcome guests in 2027.
Named Voyager Class space station, the hotel will be the world’s first space hotel which will be able to accommodate up to 400 people.
All hotels need facilities right? Well, the Voyager Class will also include a cinema, restaurants, bars and a spa for guests to enjoy and relax on their vacation.

The Orbital Assembly Corporation (OAC) – the company building the Voyager, shared that construction of the space station will begin in 2025 with the intention of being operational by 2027.
According to the company website, the station is “a rotating space station designed to produce varying levels of artificial gravity by increasing or decreasing the rate of rotation.”
“The station will be designed from the start to accommodate both national space agencies conducting low gravity research and space tourists who want to experience life on a large space station with the comfort of low gravity and the feel of a nice hotel.”

The station will consist of two concentric structural rings – the inner and outer ring- that are fixed together.
The inner ring will be a docking hub while the outer ring will be the “backbone of the station and provide mounting for habitable modules, solar panels, radiators, and a rail transport system” which will be where guests will be able to move freely around the station.
Pods will be attached below the outer ring and each pod will serve a different purpose. Some of these pods may be sold to NASA for research purposes and others will be used for accommodation, restaurants and more.

The upcoming project has been in the works for many years since John Blincow founded The Gateway Foundation in 2012, Space.com shared. The foundation that was created to build the first space port, in turn founded the OAC.
“To do that we must first build a few smaller structures,” the foundation’s website explained its plans. “One of the most important projects is the Voyager Class of rotating space stations. This will likely be the first commercial space construction project in history.”

There’s no word yet on how much a trip to the space hotel will cost but we’re betting that it won’t be cheap.
Maybe if we start saving from now…
Would you take a trip to the first ever space hotel if you could? Who would you take with you? Let us know!
