We’ve spent more than a year waiting for the final season of Game of Thrones and although the first episode has not aired yet, we already have a premiere date and a brand new teaser trailer!
The teaser trailer showed Jon Snow, Sansa Stark and Arya Stark coming together for the first time since season 1 and everyone, naturally, freaked out.
But what about a full trailer for season 8?
Not much was shown in the teaser trailer so it comes as no surprise that fans are eagerly anticipating a full trailer, complete with footages from the upcoming season, to drop.
However, GoT’s writer-producers, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, recently shared their thoughts on trailers and how they sometimes wished that trailers weren’t a thing.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, David stated that: “[David Lynch] was saying he wished there were no trailers. And it’s true, you could just go into a movie and see something completely fresh.”
Dan shared the same views, adding, “I wish there were no trailers. I just want somebody to say, ‘Trust me, go see this.’”

Before you start freaking out that there won’t be a full trailer, David and Dan have confirmed that we will be getting one…. at some point!

Entertainment Weekly suggested to the duo that with the success of GoT, they would probably be able to get away without releasing a full trailer but Dan assured fans that they wouldn’t do that to them.
“We went and saw Ready Player One with our kids and they played the Westworld trailer, and it looked great,” Dan said. “And we’re like, ‘Ah, we should do that.’”
So rest assured Game of Thrones fans, we will be getting a full trailer, we just have to play the waiting game again…
Game of Thrones season 8 will premiere at the same time as the U.S. on Monday, 15th April at 9am, exclusively on HBO (Astro Ch 411 / 431 HD).
There’s still time to catch up with season 1 to 7 which is readily available via On Demand!
