They’re sugar, spice and everything nice and now, they’ve finally got its three leads!
The upcoming live-action Powerpuff Girls series has found its Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup in Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron and Yana Perrault!

Since the live-action series was first announced back in August, fans of the beloved animated series have been anxiously waiting to see who would be cast as the three superheroes.
It was finally revealed that Chloe, Dove and Yana would be leading the series which will see Chloe as Blossom, Dove as Bubbles and Yana as Buttercup.

Written by Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier, the series will be directed by Maggie Kiley and based on the original Cartoon Network animated series created by Craig McCraken.
Instead of the American pint-sized heroes that we’re used to, The Powerpuff Girls will focus on the girls as “disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?”

As twentysomethings, the superheroes have grown up and each have their own unique personalities that may make working together again difficult to do.
Although she was a “spunky, conscientious, Little-Miss-Perfect child who holds several advanced degrees”, Blossom Utonium’s “repressed kiddie-superhero trauma has left her feeling anxious and reclusive, and she aims to become a leader again – this time on her own terms.”
Bubbles Utonium’s sweet-girl disposition may have won America’s hearts as a child – and she still sparkles as an adult; “but her charming exterior belies an unexpected toughness and wit. She’s initially more interested in recapturing her fame than saving the world, but she just might surprise us and herself.”
We know Buttercup Utonium as the “rebellious bad*** of the Powerpuff Girls in its heyday” but “more sensitive than her tough exterior suggests, Buttercup has spent her adulthood trying to shed her Powerpuff Girl identity and live an anonymous life.”
