Summer love stories must come to an end.
Prime Video has officially announced that The Summer I Turned Pretty will conclude with its upcoming third season. Fans of Jenny Han’s bestselling book series likely saw this coming, as each season of the show has followed the events of a corresponding novel. Season 3 will be based on We’ll Always Have Summer, the final installment in Han’s beloved trilogy.

The coming-of-age drama stars Lola Tung as Belly, caught between brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno). Season 2 ended with Belly choosing Jeremiah over Conrad, mirroring the events of It’s Not Summer Without You. After an emotional goodbye, Conrad returned Belly’s infinity necklace, putting on a brave face before breaking down in private. Meanwhile, Jeremiah proudly supported Belly as she returned to her volleyball team, and the season closed with her joyfully playing alongside her friends.

Based on a report by Entertainment Weekly, Tung previously shared her thoughts on Belly’s decision, “She wants someone who's going to fight for her, and in that moment, Jeremiah is the right choice—one that allows her to be happy without the drama.”
However, book readers know Belly’s story isn’t over yet. While We’ll Always Have Summer begins with her fully committed to Jeremiah, Conrad remains heartbroken and struggles to move on. The love triangle isn’t quite settled—will Belly stay with Jeremiah, or does Conrad still have a chance?
The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 premieres in July, bringing the final chapter of Belly’s summer romance to the screen.
