Deepavali is almost upon us and we can’t wait to celebrate this festival of lights with our family and friends!
But as is with all festive seasons, one of the big downsides of the celebrations is definitely the traffic jams.

Fortunately, PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) is attempting to do something to help with the traffic flow.
Starting from today (24th October) until 29th October, all reload booths at all PLUS highway toll plazas will be closed to help ease traffic congestion that’s expected to occur this long weekend.

“During this festive season, PLUS estimates a 17 per cent increase in traffic to two million vehicles during the peak period (October 25-26) and October 28 compared to 1.7 million vehicles on normal days,” they said in a statement.
“Traffic at toll plazas will be affected if there are motorists queuing up at the reload lanes, which would inconvenience other motorists,” the statement added.

Due to this added traffic, motorists have been advised to plan their travels and reload their Touch ‘n Go or PLUSMiles before travelling.
You can still top up your cards at the ATMs, R&Rs, petrol stations and 24-hour convenience stores.
Do take note because the statement also adds that the e-Wallet PayDirect service is not operational as well.

So drivers, be sure to top up your cards before you begin your travels this festive season!
Share this with your loved ones so they don’t get caught off guard!
