One of the most anticipated series in 2019 is definitely The Witcher, based on the novel and video game of the same name… and starring Henry Cavill!
And now the fantasy show is confirmed to start filming the second season in February 2019!
Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said that the second season will be “more intense” compared to the first season… which is already pretty intense if you ask us!
"What I would say is that season 1 is very much about building blocks. It's about constructing the world, and setting up these characters, and putting them on paths, and knocking those dominoes over.”
"When you get to season 2, all of those things start to come to play, which is that characters start meeting each other - sometimes getting along, sometimes not."
"So the storytelling is a little more intense in a way, and maybe a little more focused and driven in the journeys that we're telling in season 2."
The first season was just released a few days ago and fans are already saying it’s a better series compared to Game of Thrones!
The player-count for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game also increased after the release of the series.
The series follows the story of a monster hunter named Geralt of Rivia who finds his destiny liked to sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg and the young Princess Cirilla.
