Then we’ve got the perfect job for you and it pays more than RM39,000!
Norwegian browser maker Opera, is looking for a “personal browser” and tbh, it sounds like the job of our dreams!
The personal browser’s main task will be “to browse the far corners of the web and talk about the fun and the weird stuff you come across,” Opera shared. “Your work days will be shared online.”
Known for its non-default browsers and other products that’s used by 380 million people around the world, the web browser is interested in “finding the weird, the real and the true: the things people do on their non-work-related, personal browsing time,” – regardless of the person’s activity on the web.
“We tend to focus on numbers and graphs and on keeping our users anonymous,” said Maciej Kocemba, product director at Opera. “It’s time to let them speak up and show us who they really are. We want the unpolished truth.”
“The browser is the place where your online life happens. We are curious to see the real faces behind the clicks,” Maciej added. “Whether you’re a nun streaming death metal at night, a fitness guru who bookmarks cake recipes all day, or a biker looking for knitting tutorials, we don’t judge.”
The post of personal browser is currently open to anyone from anywhere around the world but the application process of course, is a little bit different.
If you’re interested, all you have to do is to submit a 15 second video of yourself and talk about your most interesting and relevant browsing moment of your life.
“It can be anything from a funny incident to a dead serious revelation.”
Once those interested in the opportunity have finished the first phase of the application process, the selected applicants will be contacted and given further details about the project and the next steps.
One thing to note however is that the role of personal browser is not a full-time employment opportunity.
The lucky winner will be tasked to perform two weeks of browsing and at the end, the successful candidate will be paid €8000 (RM39,050).
The winner will also receive the first ever “Personal Browser” title from the company! Beyond that, they also promise to promote the winner through its social media channels.

- You have a computer and a stable internet connection
- You speak fluent English
- You are at least 18 years old
