TikTok users in the United States have claimed that content moderation has become stricter since the platform was reinstated following an executive order by President Donald Trump.

Claims of Increased Moderation
Users have reported that many live streams are no longer visible, and some activities have been removed or flagged as harmful content, even when similar content was previously allowed. They also claim to see increased content moderation, such as limited search results, warnings about inaccurate information, and prompts urging users to verify their sources.
TikTok's Response
In a statement to Reuters, TikTok clarified that its policies and algorithms remain unchanged but acknowledged working diligently to stabilize the app.
“There have been no changes to our policies or algorithms. We are working hard to restore our operations in the US and expect temporary instability, which may impact TikTok’s features or users’ access to the app,” the statement read.
TikTok emphasized that its community guidelines strictly prohibit content promoting terrorism, violence, or hatred.
Background on the Ban
Previously, President Trump vowed to find a resolution to the TikTok ban in the US. Several potential buyers for the platform were identified during this process.
TikTok continues to assure its users that it is committed to maintaining its operations while adhering to its existing content policies.
