Spider-Man star Tom Holland has reportedly been asked to host the upcoming Oscars 2022 awards ceremony! Is there a petition we can sign to make this happen??
Following the 2021 ceremony, in which there was no set host due to Covid-19 restrictions, it has been confirmed that this year’s Oscars event will be hosted by one person. The question is...who?
This year’s host has yet to be officially announced, however, The Hollywood Reporter shared that the Academy (the organisation behind the Oscars) has already reached out to their first choice: Tom Holland. So… Is it going to be a Spidey Oscars??

The 25 year-old British actor once said that he’d be interested in hosting the prestigious award ceremony.
Screen Rant noted that it was late last year that Tom revealed his interest in hosting the Oscars in an interview. While the actor said he’d love the "pressure" of hosting, he was unsure if his busy schedule would allow him to host but said he wouldn’t mind doing so in the future.
“Maybe in the future, but in all honesty, I’m just too busy right now. I don’t have the time.” he previously said.
Despite Tom’s statement, it is still unclear whether the actor has officially accepted or rejected the presenting gig after being contacted by the Academy.
But we’d love to see him hosting the Oscars, tho! Imagine seeing him making a surprise entrance...shooting webs and swinging around in his spidey suit. That wouldl be so fun!

Even fellow spidey Andrew Garfield has shared his support saying that Tom would be an incredible candidate for Oscars host. He said he’s "curious to see" how his "charming" Spider-Man friend would take on Oscar-hosting duties.
Speaking to People after receiving the SAG award for his performance in Tick, Tick ... Boom!, Andrew commented on the buzz surrounding his fellow Spider-Man potentially hosting the 2022 Academy Awards saying:
"I think Tom is so charismatic and such an incredible performer and actor, and I think he'd be an incredible Oscars host. I think he would be absolutely brilliant," Andrew said.
Aww he’s so confident in Tom. We love this bromance!

So… assuming the reports that Tom has been reached by the Academy to host the award is true, and that the actor can take some time out of his busy schedule for it, it actually seems like a Spidey Oscars could actually happen!
Well...as long as he brings that Lip Sync Battle energy to the stage in his spidey suit, we won’t be complaining. Bonus points if all three spideys: Tom, Andrew and Tobey perform a Spider-Man-themed musical number. How cool would that be? We’ll just have to wait and see!
