Here Are The Easter Eggs You May Have Missed In Taylor Swift's New Music Video

Were you ready for these?

Taylor Swift's music video for "...Ready For It?" just came out today, and the Internet is already picking it apart for easter eggs and secrets.

At first glance it's pretty easy to tell that the video was heavily influenced by sci-fi classics like Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell. But there are plenty of little nods to other things that you may not have caught right away.

So, here are some of the easter eggs you may have missed the first time you watched the video:

#1 Shoutouts to Joe Alwyn

It's pretty obvious that Taylor is singing about her new boyfriend Joe Alwyn - the song mentions a guy 'younger than her exes'. The video's references to him are more subtle - graffiti on the walls behind Taylor show both their birth years, and the name Joseph in Chinese characters.

#2 The Year of the Snake

Taylor was born in 1989 - the Chinese Year Of The Snake. This was referenced more obviously in "Look What You Made Me Do", with CGI snakes in the video. The nod to the snake in this video is, again, more subtle - there's a sign that says "Year of the Snake" in Chinese characters.

#3 Secret Messages to Swifties

Tay-Tay may bear a grudge against a number of celebrities, but she has always been good to her fans, and this video is no exception. The walls throughout the video contain graffitied messages to her Swifties, including All Eyes Are On Us, UR Gorgeous (also a possible reference to her latest song on Reputation), This Is Enough, and I Love You In Secret, as well as Taylor's favourite number, 13.

#4 Calvin Harris

Lightning bolts are a huge part of the video's imagery. These are believed to be a reference "This Is What You Came For", Calvin Harris's single with Rihanna that was co-written by Taylor.

Taylor co-wrote "This Is What You Came For" under the pseudonym Nils Sjöberg. Fans theorise that her 'cyborg' (cy-berg) form in the video could be a reference to this.

#5 Previous Music

Taylor is notorious for making references to previous music videos. "Look What You Made Me Do" was full of them, and this video is no different. For instance, fans have pointed out the resemblance to "Bad Blood", particularly the sci-fi theme.

The white horse Taylor is seen riding could be a reference to "Blank Space", where she is seen riding a white stallion, and possibly to the song "White Horse" from her album Fearless.

Another nod to "Blank Space" could also be the makeup, which is similar in both videos.

And, finally, some fans pointed out that the words Burning All The Witches on this platform are similar to the words spray painted onto the plane in "Look What You Made Me Do."

#6 Old Taylor Vs New Taylor

We see one Taylor outside the box, one Taylor in it, and in the end, the Taylor inside the box breaks her way out, destroying the one outside. The symbolism here couldn't be more blatant - the 'new' Taylor is fighting her way to the surface, destroying the 'old' Taylor in the process. It looks like the old Taylor really can't come to the phone right now, because she really is dead.

So, how many of these did you guys spot? Did you spot any others that we missed? Checlk out the video for "...Ready For It?" below, and see how many of these you can find!
