The biggest storm in over 60 years has hit Japan and while people evacuated, many cat lovers were left wondering what would happen to the cat-inhabited island, Okishima that was directly in the path of the typhoon.
Some netizens actually contacted their friend or netizens in Japan to find out what happened to the cats and it seems like the cats were actually evacuated 2- 3 days before the storm!
People on the island apparently prepared places for the cats to stay temporarily too and some even sent videos and photos showing that the cats were rescued and well.
Hopefully other cats that couldn't be rescued, used their animal instincts to sense the coming storm and hid from the typhoon!
Typhoon Hagibis has already claimed at least 56 lives, with many areas covered in flood water and landslides. 15 people are still missing, and the military has been dispatched to rescue stranded citizens.
We hope the people of Japan are able to get through the typhoon without any more casualties!
