My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way gave us years of great music and also the comic-based superhero series The Umbrella Academy… and now, we finally have a premiere date for season 2!
Featuring the cast of the show dancing to the “I Think I’m Alone Now” song from the iconic scene in season one, the announcement video ended with the premiere date for the second season – July 31st!
The second season will have 10 episodes and Gerard previously explained that he had created “an eighteen-page document that laid every out”, including the parts that “haven’t come out yet” on the graphic novel, so fans who've read the comics can expect something unexpected in the new season!
Based on the comic book illustrated by Gerard Way and published by Dark Horse Comics, the series follows the story of former child heroes adopted by a billionaire industrialist who must reunite years later to save the world.
The series that was first released in February 2019 stars Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Cameron Britton, and Mary J. Blige (and hopefully more Justin H. Min).
Fans are eager to watch the second season and took it to social media to express their excitement over the date announcement!
