It’s been 50 years since the release of UNO, and the makers of the popular card game are celebrating by releasing a spinoff game!

Cleverly called DOS, the game’s format is similar to UNO, but with a couple of tweaks to the rules.

Here’s how you play it:

  1. The objective is the same: first person to piss everyone off and get rid of all their cards wins the game.
  2. Each player starts with seven cards.
  3. Two cards, instead of one, are placed in the centre row of the game.
  4. When it's your turn, you must match the number of your card with the number of one of the cards in the centre row.
  5. If you match the number, you move the pair down and draw another card to go in the centre row. If you match the number and the color, you can discard another card, move that pile to the discard area, and draw another card to go in the centre.

If that was too complicating to understand, you can watch the how-to video here.

Once you have two cards left in your hand, you have to shout “DOS!”

In case you’re suddenly missing UNO, and while waiting for the release of DOS, did you know that you can play the game through Facebook Messenger?!

Oh, and BTW, there’s also an UNO smartphone app in the works!
