UPDATE: After sending fans on a worldwide quest to locate six Iron Thrones, HBO is proud to announce that the search has ended.
In what is possibly its biggest marketing promo for the final season of Game of Thrones, HBO challenged fans to the “Quest for the Throne.” The network placed six replicas of the Iron Throne around the world and got fans to go an adventure to be the first to claim the throne.
First, the Throne of the Forest was claimed in Puzzlewood, UK. The second, Throne of the North was located in Björkliden, Sweden. The third throne, the Throne of Valyria was found in Beberibe, Brazil. Then, the Throne of Joy was claimed in Madrid, Spain. And the fifth throne, the Throne of Ice, was found in Canada.
The sixth and final throne, the Throne of the Crypt, was found in a matter of minutes after HBO had unveiled its location video.
The ‘Queen of Queens’ claimed the throne in New York City, USA.
If you’re a huge GoT fan, you can still go on your own quest to all these locations to claim the thrones! We know we would!
