Iconic Anime Voice Actor Keiji Fujiwara Dies At 55

The voice-actor was most known for his role as Shin-chan’s father.

Many of us grew up watching Crayon Shin-chan, and unfortunately, the voice actor that played Shin-chan’s father, and voiced many other iconic anime characters, has passed away.

Japanese voice actor, Keiji Fuijiwara was recently announced to have died at the age of 55 after his battle with cancer.

He was most known to have played the character, Fujiwara, Shin-chan’s father in the cartoon, but many people don’t realise that he was also the man behind many anime characters like Ranma ½, the Gundam franchise and even Rurouni Kenshin.

Perhaps one of his most iconic roles was being the voice of Maes Hughes in Fullmetal Alchemist and Leorio from Hunter x Hunter!

Keiji has definitely cemented his reputation as a top-tier voice talent having voiced characters from every major anime from Naruto to Fairy Tail and popular TV shows like Initial D and Hikaru no Go.

The voice actor also dubbed the voice of Tony Stark and Joker in all the Marvel movies and The Dark Knight movie in the Japanese theatrical releases.

He was also well-known in the gaming industry, having voiced characters like fan-favourite Axel and Reno in Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII Remake respectively.

Fans have come together to pay tribute to the legendary voice actor who brought the characters they loved to life and mourned his tragic passing on social media.

Rest in peace, Keiji Fujiwara. Thank you for bring the characters we loved growing up to life!
