If you’re a fan of the adorable bear trio from the We Bare Bear series, we’ve got bad news for you because the series has officially come to an end…
Many people became fans of We Bare Bears after the series first premiered in July 2015 and with the release of the film, We Bare Bears: The Movie.
Created by Daniel Chong, the series ran for four seasons with the final episode ending in May 2019 and now, the just-released movie marks the end of the beloved series.
The movie follows the adventures of Grizz, Panda and Ice Bear as they embark on a journey to Canada after a Department of National Wildlife Control agent tries to put on end to their hijinks.
The story focuses more on the three bears’ experience of being alienated, which creator Daniel Chong said stemmed from his experience growing up in San Francisco as an Asian-American.
“I knew that was the identifying thing for me, but I kind of knew that might be maybe a little too specific as a pitch,” he said.
“So to me, the broader message was always that we all are feeling that way. We all are trying to find our place and trying to fit in.”
The series tells the story of three adoptive brother bears, Grizzly, Panda and Ice Bear as they attempt to integrate with human society in San Francisco, but struggle to do so due to the civilized nature of humans and their own animal instincts.
While fans are saddened with the end of the series, another spin-off show will be coming soon and will focus on the three brother bears as baby bears that is currently in development!
