People around the world are wearing face masks to protect themselves from getting infected with COVID-19 and it might be hard to breathe under it sometimes. But this woman figured out a solution… not.
A guy posted a video that went viral showing a woman that walked in to pay at the cashier wearing a face mask, but with a huge hole in the middle of it.
The video was taken by clerk Joe Samaan at a food mart outside Lexington, Kentucky, and when he asked her where she got her mask from, she explained that the hole makes it “easier to breathe”.
“Well since we have to wear them and it makes it hard to breathe, this [cutting it] makes it a lot easier to breathe,” the woman replied to which Joe replied asking, “cutting it?” as the woman nods in agreement.
Samaan jokingly responds, "Yeah sure I’ll do that too, thanks for the advice” as the woman leaves the store.
The video garnered over 5 million views and many users were shocked at how the woman actually believes her method was innovative and many saying that it defeats the purpose of wearing a face mask.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended that all Americans wear face masks in public to slow the spread of the virus/
"CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission," the agency said.
The U.S. recorded the highest amount of confirmed COVID-19 cases and highest death toll worldwide.
Face masks are meant to be worn to protect you and the others from the virus despite being hard to breathe under it sometimes so maybe don’t cut a hole in what’s protecting you!
