Online shopping is convenient but sometimes we don’t end up getting what we wanted, and this woman experienced that first-hand after buying a smartphone online.
A woman from East China recently spent RM6,330 (10,099 yuan) and ordered an iPhone 12 Pro Max online but was shocked to find an apple drink instead of the smartphone in her package.
The woman named Liu posted a video of the incident online and went viral, drawing wide attention from the internet and the company involved.
People on the internet have been trying to guess the culprit responsible for the suspected theft, with many stating that it’s the employees from the courier company who are to blame.
A suspect was arrested and confessed that he took advantage of the transporting cargo while working the temporary job and replaced the smartphone with a yogurt drink after taking it from the parcel.
“If it was the Apple staffers mistakenly sending a wrong item, Liu can ask Apple to compensate her and give her a new iPhone,” legal expert Zhang Bo told the Global Times.
“If it was someone intentionally taking the iPhone away during the delivery, the person responsible would face punishment.”
It must’ve been disappointing to not receive what you ordered online and we hope that Liu will at least get compensated for the phone or her money back!
