First of all, it’s ‘Centella Asiatica’ and we simpletons shortened it to Cica to make it easier to pronounce. It contains lotsa natural ingredients that are good for the skin like terpenoid, Asiatic acid, madecassic acid, asiaticoside and madecassoside.
It became everyone’s glow-up ‘secret’ because people—especially those with sensitive skin—found its healing, soothing, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties helpful.
Recently, our friends at WonderDewi were kind enough to send us their Cica range of products for us to try out.
This is an honest review of the products—no capping around here.
#1 WonderDewi Cica Makeup Remover

WonderDewi Cica Makeup Remover definitely worked well. After putting on a full face of makeup with jet-black eyeliner, bright red lipstick and waterproof mascara, this cleansing milk still got most of the makeup off in the first cleanse.
By gently rubbing the makeup remover around my face for a few minutes, about 90% of the makeup was gone! I only had to repeat the process one more time to really get everything out.

Plus, I didn’t get any breakouts the next day, which meant that the pores were thoroughly cleaned!
9/10 would recommend.
#2 WonderDewi Cica Gentle Scrub

Just like its name, this scrub truly was gentle but still effectively removed all the dead skin and dirt from every pore and wrinkle on my face.
The scrub felt just as soft as a typical cleanser. It wasn’t harsh or abrasive like how some face scrubs are. My sensitive skin also didn’t become inflamed after using it, which is a huge W!
10/10 would recommend.

A little goes a long way.
Just a tiny dollop of the cleansing gel was more than enough to get rid of all the dirt from my skin. My skin felt fresh, smooth and clean, but not dry at all!
10/10 would recommend.
#4 WonderDewi Cica Toner

The toner felt surprisingly refreshing. Since it doesn’t contain any alcohol—plus with cica added to the list of ingredients, my skin felt cool and calm almost instantly.
Usually super red and sensitive, I noticed my skin became less reddish after only the first use. It’s barely inflamed anymore. The product was also absorbed well without leaving any stickiness behind.
10/10 would recommend.
#5 WonderDewi Cica Gel Moisturiser

The texture of the moisturiser was not runny at all—so you don’t have to worry about it spilling out of the jar if you’re a klutz like myself. Plus, because it doesn’t contain artificial fragrance, it reduces the risk of your skin flaring up.
Cica helps with preventing water loss from the skin and gives the skin a glowing look. As such, the moisturiser absorbed very well into my skin as well and kept it hydrated for a long time, even on days when I was working in air-conditioned spaces.

However, by the end of the day, my skin still felt a bit oily and sticky. Perhaps the trick here is to apply an amount that’s just enough.

#6 WonderDewi Cica Sunscreen

Cica is also known to protect the skin from harmful UV rays and make the skin resilient to irritants and environmental aggressors, like pollution, allergens, and irritants. With Malaysia’s hot sunny days, this sunscreen was a lifesaver.
Even though the cream came out white from the tube, it easily blended with my skin tone, leaving a natural look without that dreaded white cast.

It’s not sticky or oily either. In fact, it gave a soft matte finish which felt as if I didn’t put anything on my face at all! After a long day out in the sun, my face didn’t flare up like how it usually would without sunscreen.
9.5/10 would recommend.
Overall impression of WonderDewi Cica Series
Like WonderDewi’s promise, their Cica range is suitable for all skin types! They don’t contain any paraben, mineral oil, artificial fragrance or ingredients with animal origins.
After using it for a week, my skin felt more hydrated and calmer. The redness has reduced, and the pores felt less clogged than before.
This range of products also helps strengthen the skin barrier while regenerating and repairing the skin.

I might have become a simp for the WonderDewi Cica Series because it’ll probably live rent-free in my head for some time.
