US celebrity chef and television personality Anthony Bourdain was found dead in his hotel room, of an apparent suicide. Bourdain was 61 years old.
Bourdain was near Strasbourg, France, filming his series, Parts Unknown, on CNN.
CNN released a statement yesterday saying “It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain,”
CNN’s statement continued: “His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller.
His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts are prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time.’

Bourdain’s death comes just days after the death of another loved celebrity, 55-year-old fashion designer Kate Spade, who was found in her home in New York, also by an apparent suicide.
Asia Argento, Anthony’s girlfriend, and ex president of the U.S, Barack Obama as well as many other celebrities took to social media to express their condolences.
Anthony Bourdain is known as the globe-trotting foodie who travelled more than 250 days of the year to film his show. His work brought him to far-flung and often dangerous places including Libya, Lebanon and Gaza
His first TV show was A Cook’s Tour on the Food Network. Three years later he joined the Travel channel with Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations which won two Emmy Awards.
His latest project was Parts Unknown on CNN which is currently in its 11th season.
