Cinemas are finally open again and if you’re already planning to watch a movie this weekend, we’ve got some good news for you!
While cinemas will still be practicing strict SOPs, they will also be allowing two people from the same household to sit together.
According to a cinema chain spokesman who wished to be known as Jason, they have received a directive that states that moviegoers will now be allowed to sit in pairs, but only if they come from the same household.
“We have put up notices within our cinema premises to remind moviegoers of this rule,” he said.
“At the usher points or when they buy the tickets, our staff members will also ask if they are from the same household,” he shared. “As this is the directive we have at the moment, we hope everyone will cooperate with us.”
The spokesman added that as two people will be able to sit together, those who wish to go solo will also be able to purchase two seats for the price of one.
“As we set the seating system based on the arrangements, whenever someone buys even a single ticket, the system blocks out a pair of seats automatically,” Jason said.
“And as the next two seats after that are to remain unoccupied under the standard operating procedure, solo moviegoers will be blissfully distanced with three empty seats beside them.”

If both individual’s ICs do not have the same address, you may have to show any documents such as utility bills, internet bills, phone bills, or any letters that prove you live in the same household.
If you wish to go to the cinema with friends or family that aren’t from the household, you can still do so but you just won’t sit next to each other as per the SOPs.
HELLO. NOW CAN. (for family) If you watching alone or with friends, buy the white color single solo seat. If you...
