As much as you hate to admit it, the order of birth in the family does shape our personality and sometimes, the youngest child tends to be the funniest… and now there’s science to prove it!

A recent study was conducted on 1782 people aged 18 and above, who were asked to compare themselves to their siblings on different traits like responsible, easy-going, relaxed, etc. and 46% said that the youngest tended to be the funniest!

47% also said that the youngest are more relaxed and easy-going compared to the oldest in the family, with 54% found to be more responsible, organized and 38% considered the eldest most successful.

Based on the researchers behind the theory, the firstborn child usually takes up the role as the responsible and conscientious one and often attempts to please their parents. They also feel responsible for their younger siblings.

The middle child often feels jealous because they never experienced being the only child like the oldest and never gets as much attention as the youngest, so they tend to be rebellious. But they learn how to get along easily with people and are usually more sociable.

And the youngest child is often trying to resist the firstborn’s higher status and try to be different to distinguish themselves, which usually makes them emotional, creative and funny!

Being the only child can also make them spoiled sometimes due to having all the attention to themselves but they are also often more intelligent and motivated because they’ve been surrounded by older people and have all the support they need.

Which one are you and do you agree with the study and theory? Let us know your thoughts on it!
